1. Policy Statement

Our House Pictures Ltd and OHP x Kit Start CIC are committed to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) in all aspects of our work. We believe everyone should have equal opportunity to participate in and benefit from our projects, programmes, and services, regardless of their background or identity.

This policy applies to all staff, freelancers, volunteers, participants, partners, and contractors associated with our companies and programmes, including Kit Start.

2. Legal Framework

We operate in accordance with the Equality Act 2010, which protects people from discrimination in the workplace and in wider society based on the following protected characteristics:
- Age
- Disability
- Gender reassignment
- Marriage and civil partnership
- Pregnancy and maternity
- Race, ethnicity, nationality, or national origin
- Religion or belief
- Sex
- Sexual orientation

We also align with other relevant UK legislation and funder requirements regarding equality, inclusion, and anti-discrimination.

3. Scope

This policy covers:
- Employment, recruitment, and freelance engagement
- Participant selection and programme access (e.g., Kit Start placements)
- Partnerships, sponsorships, and collaborations
- Public events, workshops, and online presence (website, social media)

4. Our Commitments

We commit to:
1. Fair Recruitment & Participation
  - Ensuring open, transparent recruitment processes for staff, freelancers, and programme participants.
  - Proactively reaching under-represented groups in the film and media industries.

2. Inclusive Environment
  - Creating safe, respectful, and welcoming spaces for all staff, participants, and collaborators.
  - Supporting people with disabilities or access needs through adjustments and reasonable accommodations.

3. Representation & Opportunities
  - Encouraging diverse voices across our projects, programmes, and content.
  - Actively monitoring participation and engagement to ensure inclusivity.

4. Training & Awareness
  - Providing guidance, training, and support to staff, freelancers, and volunteers to uphold EDI principles.

5. Responsibilities

- Management & Directors: Responsible for implementing and monitoring this policy, ensuring compliance, and allocating resources for EDI initiatives.
- Staff & Freelancers: Expected to uphold EDI principles in all interactions and report any concerns or breaches.
- Participants & Partners: Encouraged to respect this policy while engaging with our programmes and activities.

6. Reporting & Complaints

Anyone who believes they have experienced or witnessed discrimination, harassment, or unfair treatment should contact:

All complaints will be treated seriously, confidentially, and promptly, and will be investigated in line with our internal procedures.

7. Monitoring & Review

We will regularly monitor the effectiveness of this policy and review it at least annually, updating it as needed to reflect legal changes, best practice, and organisational growth.
